At the Highland Learning Academy our cross industry apprenticeships enable us to work with all types of employers and organisations across the North of Scotland and beyond. Choose from Modern or Foundation Apprenticeships.
Modern Apprenticeships are for new or existing employees working in an organisation.
Foundation Apprenticeships are for pupils in S3 to S6 and bridge the gap between school and the workplace.
Modern Apprenticeships

Our extensive range of Modern Apprenticeships caters to individuals at all levels. With the possibility of full or partial funding provided by Skills Development Scotland, we streamline the process for new and existing employees, making it simple to acquire qualifications that perfectly align with their current roles, whether they’re in the Highlands, Aberdeen, or beyond.
Foundation Apprenticeships
Designed for pupils entering S5 and S6 in Scotland, Foundation Apprenticeships offer a distinctive opportunity to acquire valuable work-based learning experience within the secure confines of the school environment. These SCQF6 Higher qualifications, which entail no exams, lay a robust foundation for future career paths. Students are supported by dedicated assistance and guidance throughout the learning journey, so Foundation Apprenticeships pave the way for success in the Highlands, Aberdeen, and across Scotland.
Apprentice Recruitment
Where an employer chooses us to deliver their Modern Apprenticeship we will provide recruitment services to support them to recruit a new apprentice where they are aged between 16 and 19.
As we deliver both types of apprenticeships we use our links developed in our schools programme to find the best recruits often when they are still even in school.
