At the end of April 2025, Aurora Energy celebrated a significant milestone as a cohort of its managers successfully completed Highland Learning Academy’s unique Visionary Leadership Programme.

As the first organisation to put a full group of managers through this bespoke programme, Aurora Energy demonstrated its commitment to equipping leaders with the skills, confidence, and mindset needed to thrive in a dynamic, people-centred organisation. The programme is mapped to occupational standards and endorsed by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).

A Bespoke Leadership Journey

The Visionary Leadership Programme was designed specifically to meet Aurora’s evolving leadership needs. Delivered over six months and structured around four targeted modules, it combined:

  • Theoretical frameworks
  • Discussion-based learning
  • Practical workplace application

From the outset, participants engaged in C-Me Profiling, a self-reflection process helping managers understand their own leadership style and its impact on others. This theme of self-awareness and interpersonal effectiveness ran throughout the programme.

The learning journey was supported with workbooks, personal improvement plans, video content, and interactive group activities – all aimed at creating lasting change in the workplace.

Achievements and Outcomes

Upon completion, each participant received a CMI-accredited certificate, recognising their commitment to professional growth and giving them a springboard for future development.

Feedback from Aurora’s managers highlighted several benefits:

  • Fun and engaging activities such as games and group chats
  • Practical skills that could be applied immediately in the workplace
