One great example is the partnership between Tailormade Moves, an Inverness-based property agency, and the Highland Learning Academy (HLA).
🎯 Supporting Local Employers with Quality Candidates
Laura Maclean, Property Manager at Tailormade Moves, shares how the decision to take on an apprentice with HLA proved to be a game-changer:
“We decided to use the HLA as they are in the same building as ourselves and I’d chatted to Louise a few times. When we decided to go down the route of possibly getting an Apprentice, I thought Louise would be able to point us in the right direction. What we didn’t realise was that along with having tutors to mentor apprentices through their chosen qualification, HLA would be able to recruit on our behalf. The calibre of candidates far exceeded our expectations.”
Laura also praised the level of support she received throughout the recruitment and training process:
“Louise was friendly, helpful and very approachable from the start and kept us updated at every step of the way, making the process very easy. We would highly recommend the HLA for anyone looking to go down the apprenticeship route or looking to gain a new qualification.”
👨‍💼 Joel’s Journey: From School to Skilled
One of those standout candidates was Joel Sleet, who began his journey as a Modern Apprentice Lettings Administrator with Tailormade Moves.
At just 17 years old, Joel has already completed his SCQF Level 6 in Business Administration and is now working toward Level 7 in Management.
“This achievement has provided me with a solid foundation in business and has helped me grow my knowledge well,” Joel says. “The support I have received by Highland Learning Academy — from the very first interview with Louise to the monthly catchups with Lynn — has been amazing. They are always around if any assistance is needed so you are on the right page every step of the way. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity this has provided me.”
