It’s open to people of all ages and backgrounds, with pathways tailored to roles in facilities operations, building maintenance, health & safety, energy efficiency, and team leadership. How is the apprenticeship delivered?

As with all our apprenticeship delivery we provide a range of flexible learning methods which we tailor to suit the needs of the employer and the employee-candidate. This may involve one or a hybrid approach of observations in the workplace, access to online learning, attending face to face courses and collating a portfolio of evidence

Which apprenticeships are available?

Facilities apprenticeships are available at SCQF Level 5 (Facilities Services) and SCQF Level 7 (Facilities Management). Learners may start at Level 5 with workplace support roles, then progress to Level 7 for supervisory and leadership responsibilities. Tutors can advise on the best pathway depending on prior experience.

The programme develops core skills in communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving, alongside meta‑skills like adaptability, confidence, and leadership. Supported by their employer and training provider, learners work toward a nationally recognised qualification that prepares them for roles such as facilities supervisor, building services coordinator, or operations team leader, with clear progression into senior management positions within facilities and property services
